The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed. Well let's see....

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.

Wow! I've read 69 of those books! I need to get a life!

Of course, I've got a book in my hand pretty much all the time. Actually, one title, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, I'm currently listening to on tape in the car, but I counted it anyway.

61. Some of which I only read because I had to. Some of which I've read over and over and over. Watership Down, Hitchhiker's Guide, Les Mis, Rebecca, Mockingbird...

I will never voluntarily read the Complete Works of Shakespeare. I did, however, enjoy his cameo on Doctor Who.

The thing about Far From the Madding Crowd is that he takes a whole page to describe a barn door yet poor Gideon Oak is almost ruined when his entire flock of sheep go over a cliff in two sentences!!!!

I'm going to use this as my idea for the article I have to write for the newspaper. Apparently being a librarian includes writting for the newspaper.
