Fun things

So there are a few fun things in the works, the big one- Christmas in the park opens tonight. Here's a teaser video shot last week- I'm the one forgetting what line we're singing then rolling my eyes at myself...

The other thing is a little online endeavor, I've been sewing under the name "Bad Bunny" for about a year now... you can probably guess why- this week he chewed the phone recharger- he's not generally a chewer. This was a new trick, along with that other new trick where he goes up on the kitchen table and pushes everything off of it? Ya.

Anyway, I'm trying to be a little more proactive in "selling myself" and the things I make. Soooo, I bought a domain name. I haven't paid for it to be hosted anywhere yet, so currently there's a simple free page that came with the domain purchase. For now it's a start. A big one for me.

link to the tower

ok, remember that time Percy went away and we all laughed too hard at her blog.. to the point of coffee out our noses, and snorting and maybe even a little pee'ing ourselves?

She's left the country again.

In celebration...

in celebration of day 3 off of pain killers, I went for a slow... slow slow.. 3 k run.
mmmm, felt good.

and I decided on the track of the month. a little ditty too good not to run to.

especially with that count in. perfect for a bouncy trot by the lake.

(Speaking of the lake... I don't know if it was a crazy air pressure thing or something.. but I could actually see the lights on the other side of the lake tonight. clear across to Rochester. crazy.)

oh, follow up the voices with a dance party to K'naan's : in the beginning, and you've got the makings of a no sleep night.

PINEAPPLE

Pretty Sure Natalie Dee is stalking me again.
There was a time last year where everything I posted, ended up being the topic for her comics... it lasted two weeks. Now, I know she's not really stalking me, but since stalking's my love language... well.. you know.

100

Not a monday bunday post (maybe later today)
but here's a crazy little site I ran into today... it looks at the world in terms of who we'd be if there were only 100 people in it. The grammer is a little Engrish... but... it's pretty interesting.

personal improvement

I only share this with you because I care.
THIS (link) was an actual video that the health and safety group from work decided we needed to watch.
Please, take it to heart. I think the most important line in it has something to do with patriotism ...

in other personal improvement areas... I think I need a sign by the door. Like the one that hangs at a home I know of... it says something to the effect of "am I ready to face the world today?" and hangs beside a mirror, so everyone who passes it can see if they've remembered to clean themselves up before they leave the house.
Last week, I forgot to bring a fresh pair of sock with me to the overnight job... and then didn't have time to stop at home in the morning before the day job.... by the end of the day I nearly killed myself with the fumes.
Last night I went with the boys to grab some dinner.
When I got there, I realized - though I'd just showered and smelled pretty- I'd forgotten deodorant. And a bra.
At least I'm awesome.

ear worm

this song has been eating my brain ever since I first heard it.
(chart 107 on R3-30.. it likely made it out before then... but I'm kinda sporadic in my listening... I'll listen to the same chart for like 4 weeks)
you might have seen me dancing when you've walked past the house.
you'll probably like it.

(you'll have to scroll down a bit on the dial for that page)

give it a try.

Tonight... tonight

Yes my friends, tonight you don't want to be anywhere else but here!
"Why for?" you may ask...

Well, for the songwriter's showcase event (6pm)! Right here, in the downtown 'Burg.
Who won last year's event? Non other than the Good Lovelies! Who knows what's in store for us this year!?! (ps, I've written about them before... now GO listen to their music!)

And for those of you totally out of the loop.... the top winners from the showcase get to play at Shelter Valley Folk Festival on Labour Day weekend.... AND if you show up early, (so you hear every entry) you get to be part of the voting process)
Bring your lawn chair (just in case!)!

I'm writing with too many exclamation marks! But I like it!

FUNNY

Ok, I'll admit to the occasional blog browsing while sitting at the office desk.
I'll also admit that it's one of those few things keeping me from taking up smoking (read that as- I'm taking MY smoke break in the form blog perusal)

Interesting side note: there is an online debate/discussion as to the proper term for the discovery of a blog that you end up becoming quite dedicated to.... actually, the debate is more "what term should I use for the anniversary date of the day I first discovered my future spouse's existence via his/her blog"?  Read more about this HERE.

Anyway. While on my surf board of teh interwebs- I remembered that a friend was blogging her journey of the Camino in Spain, so, quite quickly- I looked her up.

BIG BIG mistake.
I got nothing accomplished for the next 10 mins as I caught up on her journey (read that as TWO smoke breaks). In fact, I had to shove my fist in my mouth to keep from laughing loudly. No, really. I did.
I also faked several coughing fits.
I was able to avoid suspicion.
I wish you knew her too.
But, since you likely don't... I recommend you hit THIS LINK right now.

k... now it's getting creepy

So I was going to do two posts tonight.. one to talk about yesterday's meeting with the mayor... and the other to talk about my worms... because I'm fascinated by them.
I decided to take a brief detour around the interwebs... and decided that in fact... Natalie Dee IS stalking me. And I couldn't be happier.

I WAS going to write this::

Well, the worm experiment is going great. I had a nightmare about them last night- someone had stolen the bin... and left me with a small box of leaves.. and 4 small wrigglers. This upset me... so for the rest of the dream, I chased after the person who had stolen them- through a full high ropes course- including one of the obstacles where you have to climb over a flashlight and a shoe. Because... uh... everyone knows that's the hardest part of a high ropes course? (whatever, leave me alone.. it was a dream) The dream ended with me smoking a nice cigarette. I'd love to be a smoker in real life. I never will be, but I have this thing... where I should be one.

Anyway, the worms... I love them. I open the bin like... 4 or 5 times a day. That doesn't seem like much, but when you factor in the fact that I'm only home 4 hours a day... well.... I might have a problem.
They smell so great.
Like fresh turned earth.
Three days ago I fed them a small scoop of bunny poop (as recommended by Ilex) it's nearly gone. Too cool. I have an abundance of bunny poop. I'm glad to have a place to put it.
Tonight- a small handful of potato and carrot peelings- they're going to need new bedding by the weekend.
I'm going slow on adding food stuffs to the box. I have a pretty small group of worms- but I was assured they'd be multiplying if they liked the set up. No one's tried to crawl out yet... I think we're doing ok.

That's what I was GOING to write.
BUT... instead... I'll just post this....

Sir Craps A-Lot... a la Natalie Dee.

kudos

ok, honestly, I'm thinking that maybe Natalie Dee is following my blog and posting comics inspired by....

well, maybe not, but nearly every week there's one that fits SO perfect....
